It's Sunday

Everyone is recovering from last night so I thought this was an appropriate song for a lazy Sunday.

Under the Covers

Well, U2 played the new cowboy stadium last night and I thought it would only make sense to post a U2 song.  It was a great show and the boys still have it.  A big percentage of the world's wealth was in town yesterday with not only U2 but Oprah was at the fair and Tiger Woods was at the concert.  Here is a picture of the stage that the band is hauling around for the 360 tour.

Here are a couple cover versions of U2's One:

Under the Covers

'Once I was a rich man, now I am so poor.  But never in my sweet short life have I felt like this before.'
Here are several covers of the Rolling Stones' 'No Expectations' from Beggars Banquet.  Johnny Cash and Odetta cover the song like it was written for them.  The Dirtbombs, Califone and Soulsavers update the song but still try to stick with the roots of the original.  Please go out and discover these artists.

All Day Singing with Dinner on the Ground

My Dad used to tell us when he was growing up in Arkansas that church would sometimes be a full day. They would go to church then go to a park where there would be gospel singers with a full dinner to end the festivities. He referred to this as 'all day singing with dinner on the ground'.
With this in mind, I am going to attempt to post a spiritual or uplifting song every Sunday.

Happy Father's Day!

Today being Father's Day, I would like to share some songs with you that my father used to listen to when I was younger.   The exposure to this music was a big influence on the type of music I still listen to today.
